Healthywage Update: 8/21/19

August 21, 2019 by Wendy Leave a Comment

So I’ve been majorly off the wagon for several months (major fail), but at the end of July, I sucked it up and got back on plan. I would like to mention that I tried so hard to get back in the swing of things several times before that but once I fall off it’s extremely hard to get myself motivated again. Mindset is extremely important – something I’ve realized over the years is that to be successful, your mind has to be in the right place.

I have my Healthywager bet to meet by mid-December and the clock is ticking. Sorry for not posting an update here sooner, (I have posted a few YouTube updates) but I just wasn’t ready. Now, here I am.

Weight as of 8/19/19 – 10.6 lbs down for Healthywage

Can I still meet my 60 lb Healthywager bet ??

At the end of July I was back up to 279.8 (ouch) and as of Monday – 8/19/19 I was back down to 272.2. My goal is 222.8.

I need to lose an average of 3 lbs per week to meet my Healthywager bet which seems almost impossible, but I’m ready to commit and do what I need to do to get there.

My diet plan

I’m not following any certain diet – not keto, low-carb, Weight Watchers, Noom, or any of that! I’m just calorie counting right now. I know it is what works for me, and I’ve lost significant amounts of weight doing it in the past, so I’m just going to stick to it.

Typically I can eat between 1,800 – 2,500 calories per day and still lose weight. However, since I need to lose faster I’m going to cut the numbers down to 1,300 – 2,000 and aim for an average of 1,500.

I’m not “clean” eating – I’m simply trying to make healthier choices and keep my calories down.

I’m also trying to achieve 10,000 steps per day, and hitting the gym a few times a week for a more variable workout routine.

While I’ve never been a fan of trying to lose weight as fast as possible, I have 49.4 more lbs to lose and only 112 days left, so I have my butt in gear and really do this.

If it weren’t for my Healthywage bet, I’m not sure I would have had the motivation to get back on track. It’s definitely helping me maintain focus and have a clear goal ahead. Maybe it’s a gamble (especially with such little time left) but I’m certainly motivated to hit goal and will do what it takes to get there.
