Weight and Healthywage Update

March 1, 2019 by Wendy Leave a Comment

I haven’t updated about my weight and Healthywage stats in awhile now, but honestly this winter has snatched my spirit. I’ve never particularly liked January and February, but it seems as I’ve gotten older it’s even harder for me to deal. I live in in the Midwest United States, so the constant bitter cold, snow, ice, and gloom is just so difficult to put up with for months on end.

Honestly, the past few months have been a mess. Perhaps I’m struggling with seasonal depression, but I haven’t been in a great emotional position to stay focused on losing weight. I’ve basically stalled. The last time I weighed myself I was around 274 – which puts me a couple of pounds behind my Healhywage target and almost the same place I was at mid-January. Which really sucks!

I am documenting the ups and downs of this journey – I don’t want to lie and pretend like everything is OK if it’s not. While it’s majorly dissappointing for myself to admit I have stalled the past couple of months, it is what it is. It’s part of this journey, and my only choice is to hold my head up high and keep on going.

Despite my struggles, I remain optimistic. What really helps me with this is looking back at how far I’ve come – not just in terms of weight loss, but overall lifestyle and habit changes. My weight loss may have stalled because I haven’t been focused on tracking my calories (and just eating a little too much, not enough to GAIN weight, but maintain) but I still have made many changes for the better which I haven’t fallen back on, and I just have to keep reminding myself it’s a process.

The good news is, I still have plenty of time to meet my target for Healthywage. Now that it’s March, the weather is soon to turn around. Spring is right around the corner – sunshine and warmer temps hooray.

I also joined a gym! It’s slightly intimidating but I’m going to work it into my routine and see how things go!
